Leonardo's Inventions
Leonardo spent
the last ten years of his life in Milan and Rome. In 1517 King
Francis I of France invited him to move to France and appointed
him as "first painter, architect and mechanic of the King."
He was provided a house, servants and a stipend and given no specific
requirements but was encouraged to pursue whatever he desired.
During this time he worked on many projects involving flight,
mechanics, hydraulics and astronomy.
